Service Description

Johnston Canyon is one of the most popular spots in Banff National Park for good reason. Each winter, the water that usually cascades through the canyon freezes solid and creates natural ice sculptures that are constantly changing and evolving. On this guided hike, you'll traverse along catwalks that cling to the canyon walls to reach the extremely #instaworthy Upper Falls, usually being ascended by ice-climbers. The hike itself is an easy and mostly flat 5.4km and features stops at the spectacular Lower Falls, where you can climb through a cave and witness water flowing behind a frozen waterfall into the clear blue waters below. On the way there and back, we travel through prime wildlife habitat where we often spot furry friends along the way, so keep your eyes peeled! The tour includes: - Pick-up/drop-off at your accommodation - Ice cleats - Water refills - Maximum group size of 8
