GET STEEP AND DEEP AT THE BEST RESORTS ON THE FAMOUS POWDER HIGHWAY DURING THIS EPIC 18 NIGHT ROAD TRIP.

The winter of 21/22 is shaping up to be the season of the road-trip.

With so many world class resorts to ride in, Canada leaves us spoilt for choice when it comes to waist deep champagne powder, mind blowing tree runs, elite freestyle parks and amazing vibes in general.

Split across 2 parts, The Epic tour features two days of riding in the best Canadian resorts on the Mountain Collective & Ikon pass, plus stops at our favourite Powder Highway resorts. Over the course of 18 days, we'll travel deep into the heart of powderhound heaven, hitting all the secret local spots and progressing your riding with our guides along the way. We've dialled in this road trip to get in as many days riding as possible so you can make the most of your passes and time.

The best part about The Epic is that you can choose Part 1 or Part 2 for a regional focus, or select both parts of this huge road trip to clock the best riding that Canada has to offer. Whatever option you choose, we guarantee a once in a lifetime experience exploring the best skiing & snowboarding in Canada and a whole lotta great memories with your newly found skiing & snowboarding pals!

PART 1:

Starting in our hometown of Banff, we'll ensure your timely arrival and make sure you're all checked in, followed a team dinner and a chance to meet our new riding pals and guide, discussing all the awesomeness for the weeks ahead.

In Banff, we'll have 6 days with minimal driving to make the most of our local mountains with 2 days at Sunshine Village & Lake Louise, followed by an epic day at the home of the Freeride World Tour, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. These first 6 days of riding gets us dialled in for the rest of the trip & offers a chance to experience the amazing mountain lifestyle, scenery, wildlife & nightlife on offer in the famous towns of Banff & Lake Louise.

From Kicking Horse we make our way through the jaw-dropping scenery of Glacier National Park to our next destination, Revelstoke. Along the way we'll stop at some natural hot springs to recuperate our legs for the days of steep and deep powder riding ahead.

Revelstoke holds the record for the most snowfall in Canada in a single winter at 80 ft or a whopping 2,438 cm, and the Resort's slopes are blanketed in an average of 10.5 metres of powder every winter, so we hope you packed your snorkels!

On the final day of Part. 1, we depart Revelstoke early to arrive in Kelowna around 12pm to farewell those who are sadly leaving us at this point. Those who are continuing onto Part 2 will be able to enjoy brewery hopping, ice skating, shopping or relaxing before we hit the road again.

PART 2:

We welcome our new squad members joining us for Pt. 2 of The Epic and hit the road to quirky & charming Rossland for 2 days of epic powder riding & $10 cat-skiing at Red Mountain Resort.

Red Mountain Resort is famous for it's uncrowded, deep powder fall line skiing & snowboarding and Rossland has been voted as the best ski town in North America, so you can expect nothing short of a great time!

After a couple of days exploring Red's extensive terrain, we make the short journey up the road for 2 days at Whitewater Ski Resort and the eclectic town of Nelson, nestled deep in the Selkirk Mountains.

At Whitewater, mother nature blankets the resort in over 40 feet of snow annually, yet there are no snowmaking machines to be found. What you will find though is 2044 feet of steeps, deeps, chutes, bowls, and some of the best glade riding on the planet at your feet.

Following 4 straight days of deep powder riding, even the most bulletproof riders legs need a little TLC. So, on our way from Nelson to our next stop at Panorama we'll stop at some local secret hot springs for a nice relaxing dip, before arriving in Invermere that evening.

Our final stop for 2 days, Panorama, sits on the edge of the Canadian Rockies and is famous for its jaw-dropping scenery and the epic tree and powder riding in the Extreme Dream Zone.

On the final day of Pt.2, we depart Panorama early to enjoy the scenery and arrive back in Banff around midday for those who are staying longer, then continue on to Calgary for a 2pm arrival for those leaving.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 PROTOCOLS?
In accordance with our local provincial restrictions and in order to best protect our guests, staff and partners, we are taking part in the Restrictions Exemption Program, as are all of our service providers during this trip. In a nutshell, to participate in this exemption program we require all of our staff, guests, partners & service providers to show proof of vaccination or a medical exemption. Unfortunately due to the nature of our tours we are unable to accomodate unvaccinated guests without a medical exemption, even if they have a negative PCR test. For further information, you can see our dedicated COVID-19 page or you can contact us. WHAT IS YOUR BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY? We understand the hesitations and concerns with booking tours and travelling during these strange times and therefore have altered our regular cancellation policies in order to better accomodate our guests. A non-refundable 25% deposit per person is required to secure your booking. This is used towards securing accommodations, lift tickets etc. at the best price available. With our lifetime deposits, if you cancel your tour 60 or more days before departure, you can use your deposit and any additional payments towards your tour on any Radventures service or tour at anytime in the future. Cancellations within 60 days of tour start date cannot be refunded and our lifetime deposit does not apply. The balance is due 60 days prior to departure. Bookings made by Radventures on behalf of the guest involving flights, vehicle rental, insurance or any other travel arrangements will carry varying cancellation policies that will be outlined to the guest at the time of booking. In order to keep fees and costs lower for our guests, we recommend payment via Interac E-Transfer (for Canadians), or Wire Transfer in CAD, EUR, USD, NZD, GBP & AUD. We can also accept Credit & Debit cards, but surcharges apply. Please advise us at time of booking what your preferred payment method is. See here for more info. WHAT KIND OF TOUR IS THIS? This tour is for best suited for skiers and snowboarders who are intermediate to advanced and to ride the best conditions at a number of resorts. Beginners are also welcome, but please be aware that the guiding on the mountain each day is catered towards higher ability levels. Our experienced guides have an in-depth knowledge of the resorts we visit, which gives you the ultimate advantage when you're chasing deep, un-tracked snow. We’ll aim to ride and ski a lot of powder, glades and trees so please be prepared to ride and ski in the trees for multiple days straight. Of course weather and conditions are impossible to predict so guests must be prepared to ride or ski anything. WHAT HAPPENS ON ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DAY?
On arrival day, we'll meet for a team dinner & drinks at our first accomodation to meet the group & your guides and give a run-down of the exciting days ahead. You can either find your own way to the first accomodation or we can arrange to come and pick you up from the airport or from close by. On departure day, we will leave early to drive back to departure location, arriving between 12pm-2pm and allowing you to either check-in to your next accomodation, get the airport bus or get a ride with us to Kelowna/Calgary International Airport. Specific details relevent to your departure will be provided to you upon booking or at your request. WHAT IF I’M TRAVELLING SOLO?
The vast majority of our guests are also travelling solo and are eager to make new friends too! You'll get along great with your shared interest in snow sports and an eagerness to explore all that Canada has to offer. Accomodation at the base price is shared, but if you want to ensure you have your own room on this tour just let us know and we can make the arrangements at an extra cost. HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ON THIS TOUR?
We require a minimum of 3 guests in order to run this tour and we can take a maximum of 12. Each tour differs in exact numbers, but when we are on mountain, we have a maximum of 6 people per guide. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time riding powder. It also means groups can be split up if need be to accomodatte for different ability levels and prefered riding styles. CAN I ARRIVE EARLY OR STAY ON AFTER THE TOUR? At Radventures we pride ourselves on our flexibility. If you wan't to enjoy more of this beautiful country before and after your time with us, we'd be more than happy to make any arrangements for you. As for being partly involved in a tour, whilst we can't make any guarantees about whats possible or not, it's best that you get in touch with us when you're considering booking a tour or trip with us and let us know how you want things to work. If it's feasible and doesn't inhibit the enjoyment of other guests, then chances are it's possible! ARE FLIGHTS INCLUDED?
No, flights are not included. If you need assistance booking flights, we can book you the best flight options for you. DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE?
Travel insurance is strongly suggested for all our guests who call somewhere outside of Canada home. Healthcare in Canada is exceptional, but the cost of it can be pretty extreme, plus given the fact you're likely to be going full on the send-o-meter more often than not, it'd be much better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. On top of that, cancellation coverage is always super handy as well incase things don't go to plan, meaning you can make alternative arrangements without being stung with extra costs. WHAT HAPPENS ONCE I’VE BOOKED?
Once you’ve booked your spot on tour, we will send you through a booking confirmation and provide updates about the tour including the arrival and departure day process, a map of where we meet, recommended arrival and departure times, flight options, Visa requirements and transportation information. We will send out a pre - departure guide 30 days prior to departure. Prior to the tour commencing we will invite you to a group chat which is managed by your tour manager and guides. CAN I BRING MY FRIEND/PARTNER WHO DOESN’T SKI OR SNOWBOARD?
For sure! All of our destinations are lively & fun places to be in the winter, even for those not up on the mountain. Your friend/partner is more than welcome to tag along and enjoy the sights of each of our destinations. Please be aware though that this is a snowboarding & skiing trip focused on finding our guests the best condtions to ride in and therefore that's what we will prioritize. HOW DO I GET TO & FROM BANFF? There are scheduled bus options available that we can book for you, however we highly recommend using our in-house private van transfer that's affordable, comfortable, has flexible pick-up times and allows us to be with you on the trip for longer! HOW DO I CHECK AVAILABILITY?
You can call us on +1 403 493 9556 or email us at yourpals@radventurescanada.com for the latest availability. DO I HAVE TO BOOK ONLINE? Nope. While our site is designed to make booking as easy as possible, we appreciate that sometimes it’s nice to talk to a human being, so give us a call or send us an email! One of our guides are always on hand and have a wealth of knowledge, and are always happy to help. We can do the whole booking procedure over the phone, email or even carrier pigeon if you want. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR MY TOUR/TRIP? You'll receive an email from us prior to your tour outlining all the information you need for your booking with us. Of course if you have any concerns or questions still, you can contact us anytime. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK? This is a tricky one. We don’t know when other people will book, so it’s hard to know if and when the tour will fill up. Our advice is to book as soon as you’ve made the decision to travel, that way you won’t be disappointed. ARE BOTH SNOWBOARDERS & SKIERS WELCOME ON MULTI-DAY WINTER TRIPS? Absolutely! We don't discriminate. Show up with only a toboggan if you want and we will still make sure you have a good time. We tend to have a mix of skiers & snowboarders on each trip and therefore try and mix it up with your local mountain guides being skiers or snowboarders too. WHO ARE YOUR GUIDES? All of our tours are led by friendly, fun, knowledgeable and expertly trained guides who are passionate about the mountain lifestyle. Be rest assured you'll be guided by someone who loves what they do and loves getting their guests stoked. WHAT KIND OF ACCOMMODATION DO WE STAY IN? On our multi-day tours we make sure that you stay in quality accommodation, that’s in the best location with a value for money in mind. Unless otherwise specified, the base level of accommodation is usually shared dorms in reputable, well-reviewed and clean hostels. Choosing hostels as our primary type of accommodation helps us keep our costs down when in reality we're not spending much time at our accommodation anyways. Understandably sharing a room isn't for everyone, so we have options to upgrade to twin share or single rooms at all our accommodation stops, as well as some options to upgrade to hotels. When you enquire about or book your tour, you'll be given options for your choice of accommodation style. WHAT TYPE OF TRANSPORT IS PROVIDED? Our itineraries indicate travelling time and mode of transport to the best of ability. We typically use 14 seater passenger vans. Some days on tour we find it more practical and faster to use the local ski-shuttle as it drops us off right at the lifts and we get to bypass local traffic. Although there are some days where we travel relatively long distances, our trips are organized to make travelling as convenient and efficient as possible, maximizing your time on the mountain or doing activities. Our travel days are sometimes a highlight of a trip, with interesting communities and spectacular landscapes encountered en route. WILL I HAVE MUCH FREE TIME TO DO OTHER THINGS? All our multi-day tours and even some of our day tours are a combination of organized activities and free time. Our itineraries should give you an idea of how much free time to expect. Each day, your trip guide will make suggestions about daily & nightly activities for the group to enjoy, but if you'd prefer to do your own thing you're more than welcome! It also depends on the trip, eg. some of our road-trip’s may have less free time than other trips. We know it’s important that you have time to yourself. If you have any questions, just ask us. CAN I MAKE MY OWN ACCOMODATION ARRANGEMENTS? For locals of Banff & Canmore and only for tours starting and finishing in Banff, you are welcome to opt out of the accomodation in Banff only and receive a discounted rate. Please note however that you will be responsible for finding your own way to and from our group accomodation in these circumstances. THATS IT?! I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS! Feel free to get in touch with us for any questions you might have about travel ideas, planning or anything else!
