Not at all. Your guide covers everything before you hit the water. And standing is optional. Plenty of people spend their whole session on their knees or sitting cross-legged, which actually gives you a lower centre of gravity and a steadier ride. However you choose to paddle, you’re still out there on a glacial lake in the Rockies.
Morning departures give you the best water conditions, calm, glassy, and lit by mountain light before the afternoon wind arrives. That said, sunrise and sunset sessions may be available depending on conditions and guide availability. Reach out and we’ll see what we can do.
Dress in layers you don’t mind getting wet. Mountain mornings can be cold, especially before the sun clears the peaks, so come prepared for both the chill and the splash. Bring a towel, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and your own water bottle. We’ll handle everything else.
This adventure runs rain or shine! If conditions aren’t safe, we’ll contact you to reschedule or provide a full refund. We’d rather rebook than put anyone on the water in the wrong conditions.
