Our expert guides know exactly where to look, navigating the wildlife corridors where sightings of elk, bighorn sheep, deer, and even bears (May through October) are common. We can’t promise nature will always cooperate, but with a 95% success rate, the odds are very much in your favour.
How long is this tour?
About 3 hours, which makes it the perfect way to kick things off when you first arrive, or a great companion to a longer tour on the other half of your day. It’s short enough that nothing ever feels rushed, but long enough to really get a feel for Banff.
What is the wildlife encounter rate?
We spot wildlife on about 95% of our tours, with elk, bighorn sheep, and deer almost always somewhere in view. Bears are most visible from May through October. Our guides know every hotspot and corridor, and they’ll make the most of every single sighting along the way.
Is this tour good for first-time visitors to Banff?
It’s perfect for exactly that, honestly. If you’ve just arrived and want to get your bearings and take in the highlights without committing to a full day, this is your tour. You’ll come away understanding the town and the landscape around it in a way that a self guided wander around town just never gives you.
Does this tour go to Lake Louise or Moraine Lake?
No, this one stays close to the Banff townsite area. For the iconic lakes, you’ll want the Best of Banff, Moraine Lake Sunrise, or Lake Louise Sunset adventures instead. Plenty of guests pair this tour with one of those and make a proper day of it!
