With your expert guide, uncover the city’s layered history—from its time as a Decapolis city to its role in Ottoman Jordan.

After an inspiring walk through time, enjoy a traditional farm-to-table lunch at Beit al Baraka, a community initiative supporting local women, where you’ll sample fresh produce and authentic Jordanian flavors. In the afternoon, return to Amman and spend the evening at leisure, perhaps exploring the lively markets or relaxing at your hotel.

Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled morning in Wadi Mujib, a breathtaking canyon that carves through Jordan’s rugged landscape. Follow the Siq Trail, navigating through towering sandstone walls, wading through streams, and scrambling up waterfalls. Feel the rush of cool water as you slide down natural rock formations, making your way deeper into this dramatic gorge.

Distance: 5 km / 3 mi

Difficulty: Moderate. There are some ropes and ladders to help you up short rock scrambles.

Note: This experience is subject to weather conditions. It can only be done during periods of dry weather. Typically that is April through October. Alternative arrangements will be made in case of closure.

After this thrilling adventure, transition into total relaxation at the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Experience the surreal sensation of floating effortlessly in the mineral-rich waters, known for their healing properties. Indulge in a rejuvenating Dead Sea mud bath, letting the natural minerals refresh your skin before unwinding by the water’s edge.

Venture south into Dana Biosphere Reserve, Jordan’s largest and most ecologically diverse nature reserve. The Shaq al Reesh Trail leads you through a dramatic mix of rocky cliffs, sandstone canyons, and lush valleys, where rare wildlife and ancient juniper trees dot the landscape. With every step, the serene beauty of Dana unfolds, making it a paradise for nature lovers and hikers alike.

Halfway through the trek, take a well-earned break with a Bedouin-style picnic, prepared over an open fire by your local guide. Savor freshly baked flatbread, grilled meats, and aromatic tea, all while soaking in the untouched wilderness. After the hike, settle in at the Dana Guest House, a cozy retreat perched on the edge of the valley, offering breathtaking sunset views over the reserve.

Take the road less traveled as you hike through the Back Door to Petra, a rugged and scenic route that leads you directly to one of Petra’s most astonishing wonders—Ad Deir (The Monastery). As you weave through dramatic desert landscapes, each turn reveals towering rock formations, hidden caves, and sweeping canyons that few travelers get to see.

Reaching The Monastery, marvel at its sheer size and intricate carvings before descending into the heart of Petra, where ancient tombs and temples await. Midway through, experience an unforgettable cave lunch with a local Bedouin family, savoring home-cooked Jordanian dishes while sharing stories over sweet mint tea. Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring Petra’s Royal Tombs, the Great Temple, and other breathtaking sites before retiring to your hotel in Wadi Musa.

Distance: 14km / 8.7 mi

Difficulty: Moderate. Any visit to Petra involves quite a long distance but not too much incline. If you get tired you can hire a camel, mule, or horse to take you the remaining distance.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Wadi Musa (Petra)
Sample Hotel: Petra Moon Hotel or similar

With an entire day at your disposal, Petra is yours to explore. Start your morning walking through the Siq, the narrow, winding gorge that unveils the magnificent Treasury (Al-Khazneh). From here, choose your own adventure—hike up to the High Place of Sacrifice, discover the serene Garden Temple, or venture into Petra’s lesser-known corners. For those seeking a unique perspective, take an optional horseback or camel ride through the vast city, just as the Nabataeans did centuries ago.

When you return to Wadi Musa, we recommend a stop at the unique “Cave Bar” (located at the main entrance of Petra) for a refreshing beverage or a snack away from the heat of the day.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Overnight: Wadi Musa (Petra)
Sample Hotel: Petra Moon Hotel or similar

Enter the dreamlike desert landscapes of Wadi Rum, a vast wilderness of towering sandstone mountains and rolling red dunes. Embark on a thrilling hike through Raqabat Canyon, scrambling through narrow rock corridors and ascending to hidden viewpoints that overlook this Martian-like expanse.

Distance: 7 km / 4.3 mi

Difficulty: Moderate. An easy but gradual uphill hike and you can take your time. No technical aspects.

As the sun sets, retreat to a luxurious Bedouin camp, where a traditional Zarb dinner—slow-cooked underground—awaits. Gather around the fire under one of the world’s clearest night skies, sharing stories and stargazing at constellations that have guided Bedouins for centuries.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Wadi Rum
Sample Hotel: Sun City Camp or similar

Rise early for an unforgettable climb to Burda Rock Bridge, one of Wadi Rum’s most striking natural wonders. This adventure involves light scrambling and easy rock climbing, but the reward is breathtaking—panoramic views of the endless red dunes and towering sandstone formations of Wadi Rum. With the morning sun casting golden hues over the desert, this is a truly surreal experience.

Distance: 6 km / 3.7 mi

Difficulty: Moderate. Short but steep climb but you can take your time. The trail has some exposure which we wouldn’t recommend for people with a fear of heights. There is a 2.5m long, rope-assisted climb but no other technically difficult aspects.

After the hike, we are ready to experience Wadi Rum by 4×4 truck. You will zoom through the desert landscapes, past sand dunes, jagged mountain peaks, petroglyphs, and bedouin camps. We get out to explore the unique sites that Wadi Rum has to offer.

As sunset approaches, we climb atop a friendly camel for an exciting ride through the desert. This is an experience you won’t soon forget.

Snorkel through vibrant coral reefs teeming with tropical marine life, glide over sunken shipwrecks, and soak up the stunning coastal scenery. For those looking to dive deeper, you can add an optional introductory scuba diving session with a certified PADI instructor, giving you a close-up view of the Red Sea’s mesmerizing underwater world.

Between snorkelling stops, relax on deck with fresh seafood, taking in the warm sea breeze and panoramic views of the coastline. Spend the evening exploring Aqaba’s lively markets and waterfront cafés, or simply unwind at your luxurious seaside hotel.

This centuries-old ritual is the perfect way to unwind before the journey home.

Later this afternoon we set off on a walking tour to explore the vibrant “Rainbow Street” and the downtown areas of Amman. Your guide will share their unique perspective on this both modern and ancient city

Radventures lives for those who want to escape the ordinary. Those who want to steer clear of the tourist traps and queues of cashed up pensioners. Those who are nomadic by nature and desire deep, authentic and local connections to make their trip as much about the journey as the destination. If that sounds like you, then you’re just like us, and between our relentless efforts to blow your expectations out of the water and our super knowledgable team, we’re your travel experts!

This tour involves plenty of easy to moderate hikes, canyoning, and other active experiences. More details can be found in the day-by-day itinerary.

Different tours/trips have varying physical demands, but our most adventurous are designed to be enjoyed by anyone who is reasonably fit. When selecting your tour please make sure you have read through the itinerary and itinerary carefully to assess your ability and to cope with our style of travel. Some trips visit remote areas with limited or non-existent medical facilities so you must be in good health. Factors such as altitude, cold temperatures, delays, unfamiliar food and different customs and cultures can also add to the physical toll. Keep in mind you will sometimes need to carry your own bags. Please note that if, in an extremely unlikely case, in the opinion of our guide, any guest is unable to complete the itinerary without undue risk to themselves and/or the rest of the group, Radventures reserves the right to exclude them from all or part of a trip without refund. You should consult your doctor for up-to-date medical travel information or for any necessary vaccinations before departure. We recommend that you carry a first aid kit as well as any personal medical requirements (including a spare pair of glasses) as they may not easily be obtained at the locations on this trip. For legal reasons our guides are prohibited from administering any type of drugs including headache tablets and antibiotics. Please ensure that you are adequately prepared.

Yes! We would definitely recommend an “All Inclusive” policy that covers you for both medical expenses as well as any trip cancellation or interruptions. You can purchase this from our booking platform, “WeTravel”, or contact us for more information.

At Radventures we pride ourselves on our flexibility. If you wan’t to enjoy more of this beautiful country before and after your time with us, we’d be more than happy to make any arrangements for you. As for being partly involved in a tour, whilst we can’t make any guarantees about whats possible or not, it’s best that you get in touch with us when you’re considering booking a tour or trip with us and let us know how you want things to work so we can see if we can make it work.

This is a tricky one. We don’t know when other people will book, so it’s hard to know if and when the tour will fill up. Our advice is to book as soon as you’ve made the decision to travel, that way you won’t be disappointed. Most of our service providers have a cutoff date of 2-3 months before departure that we need to advise them to release any excess space, and while we may be able to get these services back after the cutoff date it’s definitely safer to book early while we can still guarantee enough space for you.

You’re in great company! We have two options for solo travellers on our tours – you can join our share program to be matched with another rad solo traveller (of the same sex), or you can purchase the single supplement to have your own private room.
