Secret Stops Only We Know
Some of the best moments happen off the itinerary. Your guide knows exactly where to find them.
Your Booking Protects This Place
1% of every booking goes straight to conservation. You're not just exploring the Rockies. You're protecting them.
Your guide sets the scene for the morning as we watch the town give way to snow-draped forest, the valley waking up to winter.
At the trailhead you’re fitted with snowshoes and poles and walked through everything you need to know. No experience required. Within minutes you’ll be moving like you’ve done this before.
The heart of the morning. Your guide reads the day’s conditions and picks the route showing off the best of the season, leading you deep into quiet winter forest. Along the way they share the stories written into the landscape: the wildlife that stays active through the cold, the history held in these valleys, and the ecology that keeps the mountains alive beneath the snow.
Pause in the stillness with a hot drink in hand and a sweet treat to match. Just the forest, the quiet, and a moment to take it all in.
We’ll drive you back to town by early afternoon, warmed up and a little more in love with winter than when you arrived. Your guide will share local recommendations for lunch, après-adventure drinks, or other winter activities to continue your Rocky Mountain experience.

Quiet winter forest in the mountains around Banff, on routes your guide chooses for the best conditions of the day rather than a fixed trail. That’s the beauty of it: you go where the snow and the scenery are best that morning, deep into peaceful terrain most visitors never reach on foot. All the gear is provided, and because it’s a daytime tour, you’ll see the winter landscape in its full glory.
None at all. Your guide fits your snowshoes and poles and walks you through the basics before you set off, and within minutes you’ll be moving like you’ve done it before. If you can walk, you can snowshoe. The tour is built specifically for first-timers and casual explorers, so most guests are genuinely surprised by how natural it feels.
Often, yes. Winter is a quieter season, but plenty of animals stay active through the cold, and your guide knows how to read the tracks they leave in the fresh snow. Sightings are never guaranteed by nature, but spotting signs of wildlife and learning the stories behind them is a real part of the experience.
Snowshoes and hiking poles are both included. Just dress warmly in good winter layers, bring a water bottle, and you’re ready to go. Hot drinks and a winter sweet treat are provided out on the trail.
Expect anywhere from -10°C to -25°C in peak winter, so full layers are essential. As for conditions, the Rockies are spectacular in all weather, and winter has a magic of its own. We happily run in snow, cloud, and cold, and some of the most beautiful mornings come on crisp, snow-filled days. The only time we cancel is if conditions become genuinely unsafe, which is rare, and if that happens we’ll let you know as early as we can and always make it right with a full refund or a reschedule.
Nice and stress free. As long as you contact us by email or phone at least 24 hours before your booking start time, you can cancel or make changes without any penalty at all. Easy as that.
