There is a moment at both lakes where something shifts. The turquoise is too vivid to trust. The mountains are too big to fully take in. You stop mid-sentence, forget what you were saying, and just look. It happens to everyone, and it never gets old. With us, that moment gets to breathe. No rushing, no checkboxes, no conveyor belt. Just your guide, who loves these lakes the way most people love their hometown, slowing everything down so the wonder has room to actually land. The hidden viewpoints. The story behind the colour. The hand-picked secret stop that caps the day. Two legendary lakes, seen the way they deserve to be seen.
For those who want the classics delivered with soul.
Legendary Local Guide Guides who turn the mountains into a story and feel like a friend by the end of the day. They know where the wildlife shows up, which hidden lookout stops you in your tracks, and the stories you won't find in any guidebook. |
The Secret Stop Nobody Else Gets The last stop is a secret, even from you. Your guide reads the day and picks something to end on. A quiet view, a bit of wildlife, a place no other tour bothers to find. |
Picnic Lunch Included We set you up with a picnic lunch from one of our local favourites. Fresh, delicious, and ready to enjoy wherever the mountains take you. Included on full-day tours |
Your Booking Protects This Place Every time you book with us, 1% goes directly to conservation. Your trip doesn't just explore the Rockies. It protects them. 1% for the Planet member |
Lake Louise and Moraine Lake back to back, with a guide who knows exactly where to stand so both of them open up in front of you the way they’re supposed to. Optional canoe at Moraine while the colours are still glowing.
Add on a canoe at Moraine and the blue wraps around you on every side. Totally optional, but the people who do it never stop talking about it. There’s no view of these lakes like the one from the water.
These lakes earn their reputation in full daylight. That glacial blue only ignites when the sun sits high and hits the water straight on, so midday is when the colour comes alive at full strength. Brighter water, warmer air, and time to take it all in.
No conveyor belt, no checkboxes. Just the right pace, the right light, and enough time for the lakes to actually land.
Settle into luxury transport with panoramic windows as your guide sets the scene for the day ahead. The Rockies start revealing themselves before you even arrive.
The turquoise is more vivid than any photo prepared you for. Stroll the shoreline, let your guide show you the viewpoints most visitors walk straight past, or simply stand at the edge and let it land.
The Ten Peaks framing water that doesn’t look real. Follow your guide to the hidden vantage points, paddle out on an optional canoe while the colours are still glowing, or just pause and take in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.
Your guide picks this one on the way back to Banff. A hidden viewpoint, a wildlife moment, a quiet mountain trail. Something chosen just for today that you won’t find on any other tour.
Back in Banff with your wonder fully intact. Your guide will point you toward whatever comes next, but honestly, the lakes already delivered.

The two lakes everyone chases, Lake Louise and Moraine, seen the way they were meant to be. Not the way the crowds settle for. You get a local guide who actually knows these mountains, insider photography tips for shots worth stopping the scroll, and a hidden local secrets stop the tour buses miss. Hotel pickup and drop off, a Polaroid to take home, fresh water all day, and a picnic lunch with a view. Two lakes. One unforgettable day. Done right.
About 8 hours in total. You’re typically picked up around 8:00 to 8:35am depending on where you’re staying, and you’ll be back by about 4:00 to 4:15pm. Exact times are confirmed when you book. They vary slightly by pickup location and time of year.
Roughly 1.5 to 2 hours at each lake, which is the sweet spot. Enough to really take it in, explore the shoreline, get your photos, and not feel rushed. Your guide will time it to make sure you’re at each lake when the light and crowd levels are best.
You can! Canoe rentals are available right on the water at Moraine Lake (seasonal, and you pay on-site). They’re not part of the tour price and availability isn’t guaranteed, but if you’re keen, just let your guide know so they can help direct you. Keep in mind your time at the lake is limited, so plan accordingly and decide early if you want to get out on the water.
It’s not included, so you’ll want to sort that out before the tour. You can grab one at the park gate, the visitor centre in Banff, or online at pc.gc.ca.
Kids 8 and up are totally welcome and usually love it. The lakes are genuinely jaw-dropping and the guides are great at keeping it engaging. For families with kids under 8, a private tour is the better call since you can set the pace.
Totally fine, just give your guide a heads up beforehand. You’re welcome to stay behind and catch the Roam Transit bus back to Banff or Lake Louise on your own time. Plenty of guests do exactly this when they want some extra time to hike or get out on the water.
We pick up from select hotels across Banff (the Train Station, Rimrock, Fairmont Banff Springs, Moose Hotel, Juniper, and more), Lake Louise (both the Village and the Chateau), and Canmore (Solara, The Malcolm, Grand Rockies, and a few others). You’ll see the full list at checkout, so just pick yours and you’re set.
This one’s an easy day. You’ll do some light walking on uneven ground at each lake, nothing strenuous, but a reasonable level of mobility makes it more comfortable. If you can handle a gentle stroll, you’ll be more than fine.
Nice and stress free. As long as you contact us by email or phone at least 24 hours before your booking start time, you can cancel or make changes without any penalty at all. Easy as that.
